Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant / Scribe, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting clinical workflows. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals in diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and urgent care centers. Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations by preparing rooms, equipment, and supplies for efficient visits.
  • Accurately document patient encounters in electronic health record (EHR) systems in real-time, capturing detailed notes on symptoms, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to support accurate assessments.
  • Perform patient intake procedures by collecting medical histories, current medications, and presenting concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Support clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, X-ray preparation, and basic life support when necessary.
  • Ensure proper documentation of ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for billing and record-keeping accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient and outpatient settings, including emergency medicine, geriatrics, internal medicine, dermatology, hospital medicine, and more.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic medical procedures.
  • Experience working within hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient documentation and data management.
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including pediatric intensive care units (PICU), emergency departments, outpatient clinics, and surgical units.
  • Ability to perform intake assessments accurately while demonstrating attention to detail in vital signs recording and patient history collection.
  • Knowledge of ICD coding standards for accurate billing processes.
  • Basic life support certification (BLS) is required; additional certifications like X-ray or medication administration are a plus.
  • Prior experience in hospital medicine, urgent care centers or medical-surgical units enhances your ability to thrive in this role.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams across various specialties such as geriatrics or internal medicine. Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
