We are seeking an engaged, collaborative, and mission‑driven Medical Assistant Supervisor to support our Freehold, Asbury Park, Keyport and Red Bank Community Health Centers. Why This Role Matters
Medical Assistant Supervisor will be responsible for assisting in providing care to patients as well as supervising the Certified Medical Assistants across the organization, in conjunction with the Nurse Manager.
Responsibilities:
Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with colleagues up, down, and across the organization
Assists in professional development of all Certified Medical Assistant staff; designs and executes training programs as needed
Supervises assigned CMA’s in conjunction with the organization’s managerial and leadership practices
Provides clinical oversight of the services provided by the Certified Medical Assistants across the organization through direct observation and formal competency assessment, in conjunction with the Nurse Manager
Monitors task boxes, inboxes, scanning needs, prior authorizations, and other administrative tasks, in conjunction with Senior Certified Medical Assistants; deploys support and resources where needed to stay current with these tasks
Assists with oversight of the environment of care, ensuring adherence to CHC infection control and safety policies and procedures; monitors employee performance in the same
Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position
Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school with current national certification from an approved certifying body
2+ years of medical assistant experience preferred
1+ Supervisory experience required
Experience in EKG and phlebotomy
BLS certification
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
Valid New Jersey driver’s license
Bilingual (English/Spanish/Haitian Creole) preferred
Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Working indoors with telephone, copier, fax machine, computer, printer, centrifuge, electric exam table, glucometer, nebulizer, needles/syringes, oxygen equipment, scales, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, thermometer, venipuncture equipment, wheelchair.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $26.00 to USD $34.00. When determining an offer, VNACJ CHC considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions.
