Medical Assistant (Telecare Team)(Desk MA) (1 yr MA experience required)

Texas Liver Consultants (TLC) is a thriving specialty medical practice with headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. We have openings for a Medical Assistant who will work collaboratively with our team of dedicated physicians and advanced practice providers.

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, detailed-oriented, and efficient. Strong oral/written skills and an interest in working in a medical office before pursuing an advanced degree in medicine or nursing is a plus.

Schedule is full-time weekdays. Candidate must be able to reliably commute to our North Indian Woods San Antonio office.

Job duties may include but are not limited to:

• MA receiving high volume inbound patient calls providing high quality patient care through phone triage
• Ability to spend approximately 90% of the scheduled time on the phone according to business needs and sit for long periods of time with scheduled breaks.
• Analytic and organizational skills and independent decision-making skills.
• Enter information into electronic medical record (EPIC)
• Following doctor's orders
• Document updates to medical history & current medications
• Create patient orders
• Assist with patient medical chart preparation
• Obtain patient medical records
• Assist with referrals
• Assist with scheduling appointments

Education/Experience:

• Certified medical assistant (Optional)
• Minimum of 1 year medical assistant experience (Required)
• Bilingual (Preferred)
