Third Coast Foot and Ankle is a private podiatry practice that assists patients with a wide variety of foot and ankle pathology. The team consists of a board-certified podiatrist and staff with over 20 years of experience in medial assisting, billing and coding, patient engagement, marketing, and schedule management. We enjoy assisting young professionals exploring and establishing themselves in a healthcare career.

No previous experience or certifications necessary. We provide paid on the job training. You will have one on one interactions with patients and other healthcare professionals. You will also have exposure to mentorship to your level of interest in the office and with our community referrals across multiple specialties.

General Job Description: Medical Assistant/ Scribe team member with responsibilities including scribing, charting and assisting the doctor and patients. Hands on assistance includes surgical procedures, post-operative care, wound care, sports medicine therapies, geriatric foot care, and dermatology of the foot and performing x-rays of the foot and ankle. You will also assist in patient education in home care and prevention along with education on shoes and orthopedic devices of the treatment plan.

Requirements:

1yr. Commitment (required)

Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Medical terminology 1 year (preferred)

Electronic Medical Records systems 1 year (preferred)

Experience in Customer Service 1-year (preferred)

Essential Functions

Perform initial assessment and evaluation of patient, document all patient procedures, results, and treatments.

Accompany the physicians into the examination room, scribe, and enter relevant orders.

Perform and/or assist in diagnostic imaging including radiographs, ultrasound and gait analysis.

Aid with surgery and procedures including pre- and post-operative education, injections, draping, set up trays, and management of instruments.

Perform routine, non-surgical treatments including shockwave therapy, MLS laser therapy, durable medical equipment fitting, strapping and tapings, removing sutures, applying casts and splints.

Always provide excellent patient care and customer service.

Contribute to the team atmosphere as a learning and enthusiastic member.

Participate in clear, efficient communication with patients and family, other care providers and team members.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
