Medical Assistant/Scribe

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant/Scribe to support healthcare providers in delivering exceptional patient care within a dynamic clinical environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, with experience in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency medicine settings. This role involves assisting clinicians with patient documentation, clinical procedures, and administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations. The Medical Assistant/Scribe will play a vital role in enhancing patient service quality while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.

Duties

  • Accurately document patient encounters, including history, examination findings, and treatment plans using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures across various specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, urgent care, and hospital medicine.
  • Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature to support clinical assessments.
  • Support patient intake processes by collecting medical histories and ensuring accurate data entry for efficient workflow.
  • Aid in basic clinical tasks such as medication administration, wound care, or X-ray preparation under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy knowledge to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team.
  • Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions professionally and ensuring comfort throughout visits.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or Scribe in outpatient or hospital settings is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of dermatology, emergency medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I/II trauma center operations is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and ICD coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to diverse medical specialties including geriatrics and medical-surgical care.
  • Experience supporting inpatient care environments or clinic workflows across internal medicine or urgent care settings is desirable.
