Medical Assisting Clinical Coordinator and Assistant Professor

Job Responsibilities



Provides instruction, including hands-on and theoretical instruction, classroom management, and performs administrative tasks, including preparing reports, interviewing prospective cohort students, creating syllabi, developing lesson plans, and implementing program updates. Prepares and/or maintains current course syllabi for course(s) taught. Ensures that course(s) are taught in accordance with the established syllabus. May teach during the day, evening, and/or on campus, as well as using alternative delivery methods, e.g., online, hybrid, etc. Extends the placement and evaluation of students and clinical sites while supporting program effectiveness and compliance.
This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Associate’s degree in health science or science discipline and be a Certified Medical Assistant – CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) with three (3) years’ experience, including a minimum of 1 year teaching experience. The Clinical Coordinator must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an ambulatory health care setting, performing or observing both clinical and administrative duties.


Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a healthcare related field, three (3) years of recent employment in a health care facility, including a minimum of 160 hours in an ambulatory health care setting performing or observing administrative and clinical procedures as performed by medical assistants. Minimum of 1 year teaching experience required. Must be credentialed in Medical Assisting by an organization whose credentialing exam is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
