Your Responsibilities

As our Medical Biller, you’ll work directly with our other Medical Biller, patients and Accounting department to keep our accounts accurate and up-to-date. We’ll expect you to do things like:

• Post patient charges and insurance and patient payments.
• Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies.
• Contact patients and collect deductibles, copays, and outstanding balances.
• Scrub and submit accurate insurance claims to the clearinghouse using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding systems to ensure proper reimbursement.
• Write appeals to insurance companies.
• Speak with patients and resolve any issues.
• Perform other tasks as needed.

Required Education, Skills & Experience

• High-school degree or equivalent
• One year minimum of medical billing experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills and effective strategies for resolving billing issues
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with DRG classifications, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding systems, and medical coding standards.
• Experience with tools for electronic health records required
• Proficient with technology (familiarity with Microsoft tools a plus).

Schedule & Location

This is a full-time position, approximately 32 to 40 hours per week. Your hours would normally be scheduled for times when the office is open for patients, or 9-5 Monday through Friday. All work will be done at our offices in Florham Park, New Jersey.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
