Medical Biller

We have an excellent opportunity for an experience Medical Biller to join our team. Family & Industrial Medical Center (FIMC) is the area’s leading provider of primary care, walk-in urgent care, and industrial medicine. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Biller to support billing operations for a busy family practice and urgent care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit accurate and timely claims to insurance carriers (commercial, Medicare, and others)
• Review and verify patient billing information for completeness and accuracy
• Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts
• Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and rejections to ensure timely reimbursement
• Resolve billing discrepancies and appeals as needed
• Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing questions and account balances
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific billing regulations
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure proper documentation and coding

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of medical billing experience (family practice and/or urgent care preferred)
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
• Experience working with multiple insurance payers and billing guidelines
• Proficiency in medical billing software and EMR systems
• Familiarity with Athenahealth’s AthenaOne system preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills

Rate: $23.00/hour
