Duties

• Review and verify medical documentation to ensure accuracy for billing purposes
• Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies, including both in-network and out-of-network payers
• Manage medical collections by following up on unpaid or denied claims to maximize reimbursement
• Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document billing activities and track claims status
• Maintain comprehensive medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards such as DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications to optimize billing accuracy

Skills

• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to PT, OT, and SLP services
• Experience with medical billing processes within EMR/EHR systems
• Knowledge of medical collection procedures and insurance claim submission protocols
