Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, managing billing processes, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance providers. Duties

• Review and interpret medical records to assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Ensure accurate coding in compliance with current coding standards and insurance guidelines
• Prepare and submit clean claims for reimbursement through eCW
• Maintain detailed and organized medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or coding discrepancies
• Utilize EMR/EHR systems to input data, track billing status, and generate reports for management

Experience

• Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related healthcare administrative role
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding standards including ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and DRG classifications
• Familiarity with medical billing software and EMR/EHR systems, specifically eCW
• Understanding of insurance claim processes, medical collections, and reimbursement procedures
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
