Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit Medicaid, and Managed care insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
- Generate and process invoices, ensuring services are billed correctly and in accordance with payer requirements and company policies.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid, denied, rejected, or underpaid claims to maximize reimbursement and reduce aging balances.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, claim denials, eligibility issues, and payment variances.
- Reconcile payments, adjustments, and remittances, ensuring accurate posting and account balances.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of billing activities, collections efforts, payer communications, and payment status updates.
- Work closely with operations, intake, and clinical teams to obtain required documentation and ensure billing compliance.
- Verify authorizations, service documentation, and client eligibility prior to claim submission.
- Communicate with insurance carriers, Medicaid agencies, clients, and caregivers regarding billing questions and payment issues.
- Assist with month-end reporting, revenue tracking, and other revenue cycle management activities.
- Stay current on payer regulations, billing requirements, and reimbursement guidelines to ensure ongoing compliance.
Experience
- Prior experience in medical billing or coding within a healthcare setting is preferred
- Familiarity with medical office operations, including medical records management and insurance claim procedures
- Experience working with EVV systems and other medical billing software is highly desirable
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
