Duties

• Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding standards.
• Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding and billing compliance.
• Verify patient insurance information and eligibility prior to billing.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection processes to secure payments.
• Maintain detailed records of billing transactions within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing discrepancies and ensure correct coding practices.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding standards.
• Proficiency with EMR and EHR systems for accurate data entry and claim processing.
• Experience with DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding conventions.
• Excellent understanding of medical billing procedures and medical collection strategies.
• Ability to interpret complex medical documentation and apply appropriate codes efficiently.
• Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in all billing activities.
