Medical Billing Specialist

Overview:

Capstone Transportation is seeking a skilled Medical Biller to join our team. As the medical biller, your role will involve accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses while submitting claims to insurance providers. This position offers the opportunity to expand into additional markets, supporting the company’s growth across the United States.

The Capstone Transportation network which supports both EMS and Non-Medical Transportation operations in four states throughout the country. We work closely with a wide network of healthcare partners, all with the shared goal of ensuring our clients receive the highest level of care and service.

Responsibilities:

• Review medical records to ensure proper coding of procedures and diagnoses
• ICD-10 codes to accurately bill insurance companies
• Submit claims to insurance companies in a timely manner
• Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
• Work with insurance companies to obtain prior authorization for non-emergent transports and assuring follow up with LOA's, auth numbers, and proper payment
• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing issues. Must be comfortable calling patient and following up on updated insurance information, outstanding accounts, and payment plans
• Work the collections process and assure accurate documentation prior to submission to collections.
• Posting payments accurately to accounts and assuring that the payment accounts are balanced at the end of the month.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in medical billing or related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding systems
• EMS billing experience (preferred)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Pay: Starting at $19-$23 per hour based off experience
