Medical Billing Specialist

We are a private Dermatology office located in the Streeterville neighborhood of Chicago seeking an experienced Billing specialist familiar with medical billing and electronic processing, preferably using EMA software.

Medical Billing Specialist

• Verify patient insurance
• Process insurance claims for private employer insurances and Medicare
• Work with patients to develop self-pay arrangements and payment plans as needed
• Enter charges accurately and expeditiously to ensure proper records handling and timely reimbursement
• Process and follow up on payer denials
• Post payments in a timely manner
• Initiate private pay collections after insurance cancellation, denial or other issue
• Research and resolve client billing problems or issues
• Document payment records and issues as they occur
• Report melanoma cases with State Registry

Skills

• Experience with medical billing and coding
• Excellent customer service skills and phone manner
• Ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knowledge of insurance and Medicare practices
• Experience with electronic claims/billing, preferably with EMA software
• Certified in coding and reimbursement

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
