Medical Billing Specialist

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for denial follow-up and ensuring compliance with payer guidelines. This role requires strong knowledge of insurance billing processes and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Review and resolve claim rejections and denials.

· Perform timely filing follow-ups and appeals.

· Post payments and reconcile accounts.

· Communicate with insurance payers regarding claim status.

· Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.

· Maintain compliance with payer billing guidelines.

Qualifications

· 2+ years of medical billing experience.

· Strong knowledge of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid billing.

· Experience with EOB review and denial management.

· Familiarity with clearinghouses.

· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with lab billing.

· Knowledge of appeals process and prior authorization.

· Spanish speaking is a plus.
