Job Title: Medical Biller – Cardiology Practice (Epic Implementation Experience Preferred)

About Us

We are a growing private cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology practice dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining efficient and accurate administrative operations. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Biller to join our team and play a key role in revenue cycle management and our transition to the Epic electronic medical record platform.

Position Summary

The Medical Biller will be responsible for all aspects of medical billing, claims management, payment posting, denial resolution, and accounts receivable follow-up. The ideal candidate will have experience billing for cardiology services and will assist with onboarding, workflow development, and optimization as our practice implements Epic.

Responsibilities

• Submit and manage professional claims for cardiology and electrophysiology services.
• Review and correct claim edits prior to submission.
• Follow up on unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims.
• Work accounts receivable to maintain healthy collection metrics.
• Post payments and reconcile insurance and patient payments.
• Verify payer reimbursement and identify trends in denials.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and appeals.
• Assist providers and staff with coding and documentation-related billing issues.
• Support Epic onboarding and implementation activities.
• Help develop billing workflows, charge capture processes, and reporting within Epic.
• Monitor key revenue cycle metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, commercial payer, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to optimize practice operations.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience.
• Strong knowledge of physician practice billing and revenue cycle management.
• Experience working with Medicare and commercial insurance carriers.
• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred:

• Experience billing for cardiology and/or cardiac electrophysiology services.
• Experience with Epic or participation in an Epic implementation.
• Knowledge of cardiovascular procedures, diagnostic testing, and device-related billing.
• Experience with claims appeals, denial management, and payer contracting issues.
