Medical Billing Specialist – Anesthesia (Texas Focus | Remote Eligible)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our growing anesthesia billing team. While our organization is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, this position will primarily support an anesthesia group based in Houston, Texas.

Due to the nature of this role, preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of Texas billing guidelines, including Texas Medicaid and regional payer requirements. Remote work is available for candidates residing in Texas.

This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely claim processing, with a strong focus on resolving claim clarifications, managing billing holds, and supporting documentation workflows specific to anesthesia services. The ideal candidate brings both technical billing expertise and the ability to navigate complex payer requirements, particularly in the Texas market.

Key Responsibilities

• Resolve claim holds and billing clarifications (coding and demographics)
• Review patient insurance, eligibility, and payer requirements
• Identify and correct claim rejections and denials
• Request and review operative reports and supporting documentation
• Perform accounts receivable follow-up
• Communicate with payers, facilities, and patients regarding claim status
• Ensure compliance with anesthesia billing and Texas-specific guidelines

Qualifications

• Medical billing experience required (anesthesia preferred)
• Knowledge of Texas Medicaid and regional insurance plans preferred
• Strong understanding of claims, denials, and A/R follow-up
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting
• Excellent communication skills

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
