Annual Compensation Range: $77,000-$82,000

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Application Development Engineer is responsible for developing coating processes for Biocoat’s Hydak technology on customer’s devices. The Engineer will work directly with the Applications Development team and customers to develop coating formulations, design coating processes, and optimize coating parameters to achieve required performance on customer products using engineering skills.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design processes for coating medical devices with Biocoat’s Hydak technology while working collaboratively with the customers
  • Design new coating formulations for a variety of projects in the medical device market
  • Apply and test coatings to medical devices
  • Create novel testing methods in accordance with new projects
  • Document and conduct technical report writing
  • Collaborate with other teams such as the Coating Services, R&D, QA/RA, Production, etc. to understand project and documentation requirements
  • Suggest and implement internal process improvements
  • Serve as the core or extended team engineer on new consumer projects

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering field
  • Minimum of 1 year of industrial experience required, preferably 2-3 years of experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with medical devices and/or coatings preferred.
  • Prior experience working with customers to meet project requirements and proven client relationship building a must.
  • Hands-on experience designing and executing experiments
  • Proven experience in manufacturing process and technology improvements
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong personal skills to build relationships and work cross-functionally both within the organization as well as with external customers.
