Primary responsibilities are listed below: -

This position reports to RCM Manager

• Comply with all legal requirements regarding coding procedures and practices.

• Accounts for coding and abstracting of patient encounters, including diagnostic and procedural information, significant reportable elements, and complications.

• Assigns codes for reimbursements, research and compliance with regulatory requirements utilizing guidelines.

• Conduct coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and precise

• Assign and sequences ICD 10 CM, CPT, HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures from the patient’s medical records for the approval purpose.

• Identifies discrepancies, potential quality of care, and billing issues.

• Researches, analyzes, recommends, and facilitates plan of action to correct discrepancies and prevent future coding errors.

• Collaborate with billing department to ensure all bills are satisfied in a timely manner.

• Communicate with insurance companies about coding errors and disputes.

• Contact physicians and other health care professionals with questions about treatments or diagnostic tests given to patients about coding procedures.

• Coordinating with the information coding consulting services for the completion of clinical documentation plans related to accounts.

• Researches and analyzes data needs for reimbursement.

• Analyzes medical records and identifies documentation deficiencies for the approval.

• Maintaining the Complete Track of Client Information as knowledge documents for the coordinate with patient and insurance.

• Keeping knowledge about various medical coding processes that mainly for Ophthalmology

• Daily communication within the team related to surgery booking list.

• Sustaining effective communication with the superiors with a view to get acquainted with the modern coding updates and forthcoming guiding principles.

• Effectively comprehending the charts and documents related to patient heath care.

• Coordinate with OT manager to maintain the flow for theater schedule.

• Besides, processing the patient’s health documents in precise modes.

• Observing the quality parameters regularly and ensuring that the quality of coding work is maintained at a higher rate.

• Perform all related duties as assigned by HOD/Reporting Manager etc
