Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Collector to join our team at STYMCO Medical LLC. In this role, you will be responsible for processing medical billing and coding accurately, ensuring that healthcare providers are reimbursed promptly. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining our commitment to exceptional service in the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for charge entry in the billing software and clarifies with other departments, and providers when necessary, on information that seems incomplete or is lacking for proper claim processing;
• Document all calls and interactions with patients timely and accurately in the patients’ account in the portal.
• Verify eligibility, benefits and authorization status in the insurance/provider portals as needed for accurately billing.
• Responsible for correcting, completing, and processing claims for all codes;
• Process billing calls and questions from patients, providers, and insurance companies;
• Identify trends, and carrier issues relating to billing and reimbursements. Report findings to Team Lead and/or Supervisor;
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, , , and other payer requirements and systems.
• Communicate daily with internal and external customers via phone calls and written communications;
• Knowledge of medical terminology likely to be encountered in medical claims;
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections;
• Perform insurance claim follow-ups for denials and appeals;
• Process payments from insurance companies and patients;
• Work insurance aging reports to identify and correct coding/billing errors and insurance company denials.
• Reviews payment from primary payers and submits secondary claims.
• Generating and reviewing monthly patients’ statements.
• Consistent follow up on unpaid claims and patient account balances.
• Maintaining patient confidence and protects medical office operations by keeping patient information confidential.;
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
• Perform other duties as assigned to support Stymco Medical’s Mission.

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical billing or coding, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, and medical terminology.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
• Familiarity with medical office systems and procedures is a plus.
• Certified Biller/Coder Preferred
• 2 year experience in medical billing with the knowledge of working aging reports as well as being able to read and understand and Explanation of Benefits.
• Computer and word processing skills, and ability to learn new software quickly
• Knowledge of Medisoft (preferable)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
• Strong attention to details
• Able to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
