Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks or similar vehicles to transport medical items between facilities, labs, pharmacies, and hospitals.
- Load and unload medical supplies using equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols.
- Follow designated routes efficiently while maintaining accurate delivery schedules to meet tight deadlines.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with healthcare staff and clients during deliveries.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Handle heavy lifting of boxes or medical equipment with proper technique to prevent injury.
- Maintain detailed records of deliveries, pickups, and route logs for compliance and tracking purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably within a healthcare or warehouse setting.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving box trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude at all times.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly and perform moving tasks safely.
- Experience with warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus but not mandatory; training can be provided.
- Knowledge of route driving best practices, including navigation tools and time management skills.
