Medical Director

Position Summary

The Medical Director provides clinical oversight and regulatory supervision for a growing medical spa practice. This role ensures compliance with state medical board regulations, establishes treatment protocols, supports staff training, and upholds the highest standards of patient safety and care.

The ideal candidate is a licensed physician with experience in aesthetic medicine and a collaborative leadership style. This position may be structured as a part-time or contract arrangement depending on state requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Oversight & Compliance

  • Provide medical supervision in accordance with state regulations
  • Establish and approve treatment protocols for aesthetic services
  • Ensure compliance with medical board, DEA (if applicable), and healthcare regulations
  • Conduct regular chart reviews and quality assurance audits
  • Maintain required documentation and supervisory agreements

Staff Training & Support

  • Train and mentor nurse injectors, aestheticians, and clinical staff
  • Approve new services and technologies prior to implementation
  • Support safe delegation of medical procedures
  • Remain available for clinical consultation and complication management

Patient Safety & Standards

  • Ensure patient screening and informed consent processes meet regulatory standards
  • Oversee complication protocols and emergency preparedness
  • Maintain high standards of ethics and professional practice

Business & Brand Collaboration

  • Provide input on service expansion and new treatment offerings
  • Support marketing claims to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Represent the practice professionally within the medical community

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in the state of practice
  • Board certification in a relevant specialty (Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, Family Medicine, etc. preferred)
  • Experience in aesthetic medicine (injectables, laser treatments, body contouring, etc.)
  • Knowledge of state regulations governing med spa operations
  • Professional liability insurance (as required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience serving as Medical Director for a med spa
  • Established aesthetic patient base
  • Strong knowledge of injectables, neuromodulators, dermal fillers, PRP, and laser procedures
  • Collaborative and mentorship-oriented leadership style

Compensation

  • Competitive monthly stipend or contract compensation
  • Flexible scheduling

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $1,500.00 per month
