We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our dynamic Medical Front Desk team.
Position Overview:
Perform secretarial duties using specific knowledge of insurance and medical terminology and hospital, clinic, or laboratory procedures. Duties may include scheduling appointments, collecting and posting payments, and compiling and recording medical charts, reports, and correspondence.
Job Essential Functions:
- Manage patient check-in/out and assist with insurance coverage and benefits inquiries.
- Greet and direct patients, visitors, and salespeople, answer phones professionally, and schedule appointments.
- Perform front-desk triage, prioritize patients, and take messages when needed.
- Guide new patients in completing medical forms and enter/update information in EMR.
- Ensure efficient patient flow through scheduling, timely appointment prep, and notifying medical staff of check-ins/outs.
- Verify insurance eligibility, inform uninsured patients of assistance, and collect copays/payments.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and scanned into the patient's EMR chart.
- Record and compile medical records, reports, and correspondence as needed.
- Collect and post payments with efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, promote teamwork, and share expertise within the clinic.
- Provide basic front office assistance such as distributing faxes, answering phones, etc.
- Demonstrate a commitment to regular attendance by arriving on time for scheduled shifts and being present for the full duration of each workday.
- Ensure the cash drawer balances daily.
- Keep the front desk, surrounding lobby, and environment clean and orderly.
- Offer ideas for improvement in order to provide better customer service or more efficient operations.
- Travel is not required.
- Working from home is not optional.
- Perform other related duties as necessary for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the organization.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of customer service-related experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Talk to others to convey information effectively.
- Give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and do not interrupt at inappropriate times.
- Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
- Communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.
- Skill to fluently speak, read, and write in English, enabling clear and effective communication with diverse clients, customers, and team members.
- Speak and comprehend Spanish strongly preferred.
Wage and Benefit Information:
· Wage Range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
Schedule: Monday – Friday; working 4 ten-hour days 7 am – 5:30 pm and optional one late evening of 9 am -7 pm.
