Medical Front Desk Receptionist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical office procedures. Your energetic approach will help streamline patient flow, support clinical staff, and uphold the highest standards of patient service and confidentiality.

Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes
  • Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification using systems like Availity, CHAMPS etc
  • Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as EZDerm, ensuring optimal clinic flow
  • Collect and process payments, including copays and outstanding balances, utilizing medical billing and collection procedures
  • Maintain precise medical records by reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette
  • Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans, preparing patient charts, and managing documentation review processes involving CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical terminology

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with front desk responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of EMR systems is a plus
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and 10-key typing for efficient data entry
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
  • Knowledge of insurance verification procedures, and Medicare guidelines
  • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette and courteous patient service orientation

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
