Example of Duties:

Position is available for medical laboratory technician in the lab of the Robeson County Health Department.

Employee in this role will carry out a variety of laboratory tests in the areas of chemistry, serology, hematology, microbiology and urinalysis. Established quality control and instrument maintenance is a part of the daily duties of the lab tech.

Routine venipuncture is also performed.

Employee will be a part of a lab team serving all programs of the department.
Education and Experience:

Associate degree in medical technology from an appropriately accredited institution or completion of a certified laboratory assistant course in medical technology or a comparable course, and one year of medical laboratory experience; or high school or General Educational Development diploma and three years of medical laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid North Carolina driver’s license required upon hire and duration of employment. Out of state driver’s license will be accepted only if the individual is a permanent resident of that state.

Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Records driver license check, as well as submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing. A criminal background check must be completed by the County of Robeson for potential applicants
