Medical Lab Technician II
Example of Duties:
- Position is available for medical laboratory technician in the lab of the Robeson County Health Department.
- Employee in this role will carry out a variety of laboratory tests in the areas of chemistry, serology, hematology, microbiology and urinalysis. Established quality control and instrument maintenance is a part of the daily duties of the lab tech.
- Routine venipuncture is also performed.
- Employee will be a part of a lab team serving all programs of the department.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in medical technology from an appropriately accredited institution or completion of a certified laboratory assistant course in medical technology or a comparable course, and one year of medical laboratory experience; or high school or General Educational Development diploma and three years of medical laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license required upon hire and duration of employment. Out of state driver’s license will be accepted only if the individual is a permanent resident of that state.
- Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Records driver license check, as well as submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing. A criminal background check must be completed by the County of Robeson for potential applicants
