Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory procedures using established techniques to analyze blood, urine, tissue, and other specimens with accuracy and efficiency
• Collect and process specimens through venipuncture (blood sampling), specimen handling, and preparation for testing
• Perform phlebotomy procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety through proper venipuncture and blood sampling techniques
• Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration when required for patient assessments
• Apply aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during specimen collection and processing
• Maintain detailed records of laboratory tests, results, and quality control measures in accordance with hospital protocols
• Support patient care by providing compassionate service, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring a positive experience during specimen collection

Qualifications

• Proven laboratory experience with knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and clinical testing methods
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and blood sampling techniques such as venipuncture
• Prior hospital or clinical laboratory experience preferred; familiarity with hospital workflows is a plus
• Skilled in specimen collection/processing with attention to detail and adherence to safety standards
• Knowledge of vital signs measurement and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining sample integrity and patient safety
• Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately
• Certification or training in phlebotomy or related laboratory disciplines is highly desirable
