RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.
RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities:
Medical Lab Technician
Location: Crookston Lab
Schedule: .8 fte / 64 hours every 2 weeks- working every third weekend and holiday rotation
Pay Range: $22.18 - 31.06/hr (based on experience)
Job Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly, Benefitted position
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing

Follows standard operating procedures for MLS/MLTs

Ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met

Recognizes safety hazards and complies with all safety practices and protocols

Collects and processes lab specimens with proper equipment

Performs clinical laboratory testing, including manual and automated methods

Collect and manage samples of blood and other fluids from patients
Qualifications:
Minimums:
-
Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or be registry eligible. Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) also acceptable.

Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 6 months of employment.

Required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If not currently certified, RiverView will offer training which must be completed within 6 months of employment.
Preferred(s):

2+ years’ healthcare experience in any field

1+ years of clinical laboratory experience
