Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Office Administrator to join our healthcare team. Your expertise in medical administrative support, electronic health record (ECW) systems, insurance verification, and medical billing will help us provide top-quality care. Responsibilities
- Manage front desk operations including patient check-in, appointment scheduling, and phone etiquette using multi-line phone systems.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and process claims efficiently using eClinicalWorks.
- Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation, updating electronic health records (EHR) systems, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), ICD coding, and medical billing to facilitate timely reimbursements.
- Support clinical staff with care plans documentation review, intake procedures, and patient data entry while maintaining confidentiality.
- Handle billing inquiries related to Medicare and other insurance providers with professionalism and accuracy.
- Perform office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing multi-line phone systems to ensure seamless communication.
- Supervise existing CMT and front office staff
- Be patient oriented but able to help with outstanding patient balances.
- Work in an environment without "Drama".
- Provide knowledge of and be willing to share experience of streamlining practices and make us more efficient.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding, CPT coding, and health information management.
- Strong knowledge of eClinicalWorks is highly preferred.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards.
- Exceptional patient service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
- Previous clinic office experience and supervisory experience is required
- Previous experience with prior authorizations
Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
