Medical Office Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly at the front desk, ensuring excellent customer service and smooth check-in/check-out processes
  • Schedule appointments using the electronic health record (EHR) system ensuring optimal clinic flow
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages
  • Support clinical staff with intake procedures, data entry, filing of medical records, and updating patient information in the EHR system
  • Perform office management duties such as filing, organizing medical documents, and managing office supplies to ensure an efficient work environment
  • Ensure compliance with health information management standards and assist in documentation review for accuracy

Experience

  • Previous clinic or healthcare office experience is highly preferred, especially within dental or medical clinics
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and Medicare billing processes
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems is essential
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and 10-key typing skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on patient service excellence and phone etiquette
  • Experience working with multi-line phone systems and front desk operations in a busy healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to health information privacy and security

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
