Medical Office Receptionist

Gideon Family Care is a Family-Owned Company in Southwest OKC in search of a Front Desk Medical Receptionist looking to grow and further their career and earning potential.

Our goal is to provide a balanced work life schedule and do so with easy hours of 9-5 Monday thru Thursday and 9-Noon on Friday.

Responsibilities include:

  • Answering incoming phone calls and routing to appropriate locations.
  • Scheduling appointments. Registering patients into EHR.
  • Checking patient insurance benefits and eligibility.
  • Confirming appointments.
  • Creating a positive experience through our core values with internal and external customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain demographics, financial information, and data entry into EHR.
  • Register patients over the phone and schedule appointments.
  • Collect and make copies of all insurance cards and driver's licenses.
  • Answer telephone, take messages and return voicemails.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Perform clerical tasks as required.
  • Accurately process financial transactions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in medical office registering and scheduling patients preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communications skills, Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.

Typical Physical Demands:

Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and lifting and/or moving up to 15 pounds. Frequent sitting. Manual dexterity. Good reading eyesight and vision for close work. Ability to communicate by speaking and hearing in person or on the phone.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
