Medical Office Telephone Operator

  • Answers incoming phone-calls and transfers to appropriate person/voicemail
  • First point of contact to assist patients with their needs for: Patient Portal, Directions, Questions
  • Labels incoming faxes in the morning (on average 200 )
  • Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of practice policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of EHR and Microsoft Office programs.

Skills:Abilities:

  • Skill in using office equipment and handling paperwork/filing adequately.
  • Skill in handling incoming phone calls and triaging appropriately.
  • Skill in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.
  • Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
  • Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,360.00 - $37,440.00 per year
