Roles & Responsibilities
1. Clinical Care & Service Delivery
- Ensure the efficient, diligent, and compassionate delivery of preventive, promotive, and curative primary healthcare services at the MMU OPD.
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients while adhering to clinical protocols and operational standards.
- Provide medical consultations and counselling, including blood pressure screening and dietary modifications, to ensure treatment adherence.
- Undertake home visits for critical cases, if required .
2. Patient Records & Data Management
- Digitally and physically maintain accurate clinical records of all patients as per project requirements.
- Streamline and compile clinical data in coordination with the Nurse, Pharmacist, and Health Educator.
- Update daily, weekly, and monthly reports for submission to the Project Manager and CSI’s central team.
3. Patient Referrals
- Issue clear and descriptive referral slips for patients requiring higher-level care.
- Maintain detailed records of referrals, including reasons, patient details, and emergency notes, in both the referral slip and referral register/vehicle logbook.
4. Patient Counselling & Health Education
- Provide personalized counselling to patients and families on treatment adherence, hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Track and monitor patients with chronic conditions and follow-up needs to ensure continuity of care.
- Conduct health awareness sessions in the community with the support of the Nurse & Health educator , promoting improved health literacy and health-seeking behaviour.
5. Inventory & Resource Management
- Supervise and manage the stock of medicines, healthcare products, and reagents to ensure availability without wastage or pilferage.
- Ensure patients receive optimum benefits from MMU services.
6. Community & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Coordinate and cooperate with health department staff, local authorities, and key stakeholders to strengthen community engagement and support.
7. Team Supervision & Development
- Supervise and guide the daily activities of MMU staff, including the Pharmacist, Nurse, and Health Educators.
- Provide regular, need-based technical training to the MMU team to strengthen skills and service quality.
- Support and collaborate with the team in delivering effective healthcare services.
- Actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
8. Organizational Alignment & Compliance
- Develop strong internal relationships through effective communication and collaboration with colleagues across all levels.
- Act as a brand ambassador of Child Survival India (CSI) and comply with CSI’s Code of Conduct.
- Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager / Director – Programs from time to time.
Performance Targets
- Provide medical consultations, counselling, BP screening, and dietary guidance to ensure adherence to treatment plans.
- Reach 65-70 patients per day and 1560/1680 patients per month through consultations and follow-up care.
- OPD to be conducted for minimum 24 days a month
Qualifications and Skills
- Certified and qualified MBBS professional, with 2-3 years experience ; registered with the Indian Medical Council.
- Polite compassionate and empathic
- Ability to work in a mobile Van set up, in all weathers and conditions
