Position Summary:
The Medical Officer – Administration shall be responsible for overseeing clinical governance, hospital administration, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and ensuring smooth operational management of the hospital. The role involves coordination between medical teams and management to maintain quality healthcare services and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Oversight & Quality Control
- Supervise clinical operations and ensure delivery of quality patient care.
- Monitor adherence to standard treatment protocols and hospital policies.
- Conduct clinical audits and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient records.
2. Hospital Administration
- Oversee daily hospital operations including OPD, IPD, emergency, ICU, and other departments.
- Prepare duty rosters for doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff.
- Monitor staff attendance, discipline, and performance.
- Ensure smooth inter-departmental coordination.
3. Regulatory & Legal Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Clinical Establishment Act and other applicable healthcare laws.
- Maintain hospital licenses, biomedical waste management compliance, fire safety, and pollution control approvals.
- Coordinate with government authorities and inspection teams.
- Handle medico-legal cases and maintain proper documentation.
4. Human Resource & Staff Management
- Participate in recruitment of medical and paramedical staff.
- Conduct staff meetings and training programs.
- Address grievances and disciplinary issues.
- Monitor professional conduct and ethical practices.
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, monthly, and annual performance reports.
- Maintain MIS data and hospital statistics.
- Present reports to management or trustees as required.
6. Emergency & Crisis Management
- Ensure 24/7 emergency preparedness.
- Handle critical situations and medico-legal emergencies.
- Coordinate with ambulance and referral services.
Qualifications:
- MBBS (Mandatory)
- MD/MS or Diploma in Hospital Administration (Preferred)
- Valid State Medical Council Registration
- Minimum 4–7 years of clinical and administrative experience
