Medical Officer – Emergency Room (ER)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Room.
  • Provide immediate medical care for emergencies, trauma cases, and critically ill patients.
  • Stabilize patients and initiate appropriate treatment plans.
  • Perform emergency procedures as required and coordinate referrals to specialists.
  • Monitor patient progress and ensure timely documentation of medical records.
  • Collaborate with consultants, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals to deliver quality patient care.
  • Participate in emergency response and resuscitation efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and patient safety standards.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.

Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by the relevant medical council.
  • Valid PMDC/PMC registration or equivalent professional license.
  • Completion of house job/internship from a recognized institution.
  • Experience in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Critical Care will be preferred.
  • Certification in BLS and ACLS will be an added advantage.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in rotating shifts.
