The Medical Officer (RMO) is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients admitted in Gynecology, Pediatric, Medical and Surgical wards, as well as ICU, NICU, ER and PICU. The position requires continuous patient monitoring, emergency management, accurate documentation, and effective coordination with consultants and nursing staff to ensure safe, timely, and quality patient care in accordance with hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities:
General Clinical Responsibilities
· Conduct initial patient assessment, daily rounds, and ongoing monitoring
· Manage routine and emergency cases under supervision of consultants
· Execute treatment plans and ensure timely implementation of medical orders
· Respond promptly to medical emergencies and code situations
· Ensure patient safety, ethical medical practice, and infection control
Gynecology & Obstetrics Responsibilities
· Monitor antenatal, postnatal, and gynecological patients
· Assist in normal deliveries and minor gynecological procedures
· Identify high-risk obstetric cases and immediately inform consultants
· Maintain accurate obstetrics and gynecology documentation
Pediatric Responsibilities (Wards & PICU)
· Assess and manage pediatric patients in wards and intensive care
· Monitor vital signs, growth parameters, and treatment response
· Assist in pediatric emergency procedures and resuscitation
· Counsel parents/attendants regarding patient conditionand care
Medical Ward Responsibilities
· Manage adult medical patients including chronic and acute illnesses
· Monitor vitals, investigations, and response to treatment
· Provide emergency medical care as required
· Maintain clear and complete medical records
· Surgical Ward Responsibilities
· Monitor pre-operative and post-operative patients
· Assist in emergency and elective surgical care
· Manage surgical complications under consultant guidance
· Ensure proper wound care and post-surgical documentation
ICU Responsibilities
· Monitor critically ill patients requiring intensive care
· Interpret vital signs, laboratory reports, ABGs, and imaging
· Assist in intubation, ventilation, and advanced life support
· Participate in resuscitation and emergency response
NICU Responsibilities
· Provide medical care to neonates including preterm and sick newborns
· Assist in neonatal resuscitation and emergency management
· Monitor feeding, fluids, medications, and infection control
· Communicate neonatal status to parents sensitively
ER Responsibilities
· Conduct comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations.
· Diagnose and treat a range of medical conditions within their area of expertise.
· Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans, including medication prescriptions, referrals to specialists, and lifestyle modifications.
· Provide patient education and counseling on health maintenance, disease prevention, and medication adherence.
· Manage acute and chronic illnesses effectively.
· Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Documentation & Reporting:
· Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records
· Prepare admission notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries
· Report critical results, adverse events, and incidents promptly
Coordination & Administrative Duties:
· Coordinate with consultants, nursing staff, and allied departments
· Liaise with laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and OT teams
· Follow hospital SOPs, policies, and ethical guidelines
· Participate in audits, clinical meetings, and duty rotations
Required Qualifications:
· MBBS from a recognized institution
· Valid registration with Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC)
Experience:
· House Job completion is mandatory
· Experience in wards and critical care units preferred
· Fresh graduates may apply where training is provided

· Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, and emergencies
