Responsibilities:

AKUH is in search of a Medical Officer who will be expected to support patient care in the Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences (OVS) department by conducting appropriate assessments and diagnosis and providing general medical treatment as per protocols. You will be responsible to:

• Assist in outpatient clinics, including patient counselling, consent, and procedures at multiple locations.
• Support operating room scheduling and assist in ophthalmology-related procedures and surgeries.
• Provide 24/7 patient care through clinic duty, inpatient coverage, and on-call support.
• Conduct assessments and procedures independently (e.g., visual acuity, intraocular pressure measurement, slit lamp exams).
• Ensure timely patient treatment with strong clinical and communication skills.
• Engage in research, teaching, and continuous learning activities.
• Maintain compliance with infection control and quality assurance standards.

Requirements:

You should have:

• MBBS with 2-3 years’ experience or MCPS/FCPS-I/Diploma with 1–2 years’ experience.
• Valid PMDC license BLS certificate.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent record-keeping and documentation skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently juggle multiple responsibilities.
• Willingness to work shifts and extended hours as needed.
