Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new and follow-up inpatient paediatric palliative care consultations across hospital units, including comprehensive assessments, documentation, and symptom reviews.
  • Participate in daily inpatient rounds with the Palliative Care Consultant and coordinate closely with primary treating teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide daily follow-up for patients enrolled in the palliative care consultation service.
  • Manage pre-procedure arrangements, physician orders, discharge planning, and preparation of medical summaries and patient education.
  • Accompany the Consultant in Outpatient Palliative Care Clinics.
  • Respond to calls and messages via the Palliative Care Hotline, offering timely support and guidance to families of enrolled patients.
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of home-based palliative care, working closely with patients and their families.

Requirements:

You should have:

  • MBBS degree with FCPS Part 1 in Paediatrics or Family Medicine.
  • At least one year of post-internship experience in Paediatric Medicine, Paediatric Oncology, or Paediatric Palliative Care.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of malignant and non-malignant disease processes.
  • Prior exposure to end-of-life care for paediatric patients is preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in clinical research and academic contribution.
  • High professional integrity and respect for patients and colleagues, particularly under stress.
