Medical pharmacist

The Medical Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and rational use of medications. This role involves reviewing prescriptions, providing clinical advice to healthcare professionals, counseling patients, and supporting optimal therapeutic outcomes in compliance with medical and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and appropriateness
• Dispense medications in accordance with legal and clinical guidelines
• Provide drug information and clinical recommendations to physicians and nurses
• Monitor patient medication therapy and identify potential drug interactions or adverse effects
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, dosage, side effects, and storage
• Participate in clinical rounds and multidisciplinary healthcare teams (where applicable)
• Maintain accurate medication records and documentation
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, pharmacy laws, and accreditation standards
• Support pharmacovigilance and adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting
• Manage inventory, storage, and handling of pharmaceuticals

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm / PharmD / M.Pharm)
• Valid pharmacist license/registration with relevant authority
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and drug safety
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work accurately under pressure
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and pharmacy software

Preferred Skills

• Clinical or hospital pharmacy experience
• Knowledge of evidence-based medicine
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Team-oriented mindset with patient-focused care

Work Environment

• Hospitals, clinics, or healthcare institutions
• May involve shift work, including weekends or holidays

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
