Job Overview

Duties

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the medical practice, including scheduling, patient flow, and administrative workflows
• Manage financial aspects such as budgeting, billing, coding, and fiscal management to ensure profitability and cost control
• Supervise clinical and administrative staff, providing guidance on human resources practices, performance evaluations, and team development
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, JCAHO standards, and other healthcare policies related to medical records, privacy, and safety
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix to maintain accurate medical documentation and streamline clinical workflows
• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize clinic operations and patient care delivery
• Monitor utilization management processes and managed care contracts to maximize reimbursement and service quality
• Implement best practices in medical administrative support across various specialties including acute care, dental clinics, or veterinary practices as applicable

Skills

• Proven expertise in medical office management with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks
• Strong fiscal management skills including budgeting, financial management, and revenue cycle oversight
• Extensive experience supervising healthcare teams with excellent leadership capabilities in office management or clinic settings
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare regulations such as JCAHO standards
• Proficiency with dental office experience or veterinary practice management is a plus for diverse healthcare environments
• Ability to navigate managed care programs and utilization management processes effectively
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners in hospital or acute care settings
