Job Title: Medical Receptionist / Front Desk Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients at a busy doctor’s office. This role is responsible for managing front desk operations, ensuring a smooth patient check-in process, and supporting clinical staff with administrative and basic patient care coordination, including assisting with walk-in injection visits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and update records as needed
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
- Process patient payments, co-pays, and provide receipts
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk area
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate delays or updates to patients
- Assist with walk-in patients requiring injections by notifying clinical staff and preparing necessary documentation
- Ensure all forms and consent documents are completed accurately
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a medical office or customer service role preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems and basic computer skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor and attention to detail
