Medical Receptionist

Kansas Pain Consultants is a fast growing interventional pain management practice focused on compassionate, patient-centered care and advanced treatment options. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and professional Medical Front Desk / Patient Services Representative with experience in Medicare, commercial insurance verification, billing processes, and prior authorizations.

This position is essential to maintaining efficient clinic operations and delivering an excellent patient experience.

Position Summary

The Medical Front Desk / Patient Services Representative is responsible for answering patient phone calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, collecting payments, and assisting with front office coordination.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable handling a high volume of patient communication throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming patient phone calls professionally and efficiently
  • Schedule new and established patient appointments
  • Check patients in and out for appointments
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Identify when PCP referrals may be required
  • Collect copays, balances, and patient payments
  • Enter and update patient demographics and insurance information in the EMR
  • Scan and upload patient documents into the electronic medical record
  • Maintain accurate scheduling and patient records
  • Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and staff
  • Assist with front office workflow and daily clinic operations
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous medical office or medical receptionist experience
  • Strong customer service and phone communication skills
  • Experience with insurance verification and eligibility checks
  • Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 diagnosis codes
  • Strong understanding of medical billing and coding workflows
  • Ability to recognize and enter accurate diagnosis information to support proper billing and scheduling
  • Experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced clinic environment

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with AdvancedMD
  • Experience in pain management, orthopedics, spine, neurology, or specialty medical practice
  • Knowledge of Medicare and commercial insurance plans

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Monday–Friday 7:30-4:30
  • No nights or weekends

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
