Medical Receptionist

We are a growing practice that opened about six years ago in the South Loop. We focus on primary care and urgent care with two board certified physicians and several mid-level providers. We would like for you to help check patients in, manage communication lines, and handle any administrative duties necessary to the function of the daily operation. We are looking for enthusiastic people who have a positive attitude and take initiative in their daily task assignments.

As a Medical Receptionist you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support by prioritizing tasks your providers give to you. We need you to be a team player and be prepared for the work day as soon as you walk through the door. You will be the first and last person that patients interact with and will be crucial for the duration of their appointments. We are looking for someone who is motivated who works well in a team setting and is proactive with their work assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage online bookings, ensuring provider schedules are consistently updated and accurately reflect appointment availability.
  • Oversee patient check-in and check-out procedures, reviewing patient charts to assess individual needs and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
  • Facilitate patient registration both in person and via phone, gathering and verifying all required information to ensure a smooth intake process.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of all assigned duties, maintaining a high level of efficiency and organization in task prioritization.
  • Act as a point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing assistance with appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and general administrative needs.
  • Ensure that all patient data is handled in compliance with confidentiality and privacy regulations, maintaining accuracy and security of sensitive information.
  • Proactively identify and address any potential scheduling conflicts or issues to optimize clinic operations and minimize patient wait times.
  • Coordinate with medical providers and support staff to ensure seamless patient flow and adherence to the daily schedule.

Qualifications

  • Medical office experience
  • Proficiency in medical administrative support and front desk operations
  • Strong communication and conflict management skills
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as Athena
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems and patient service
  • Basic understanding of medical collections and coding practices

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
