The Vein & Vascular Institute of Tampa Bay, one of the largest and most respected vascular surgery groups in Florida, is currently seeking two experienced Medical Receptionists to join our expanding team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will be an essential representative of our practice—creating a welcoming environment while managing a high-volume, fast-paced front desk.

Position Overview

We are looking for friendly, professional, and detail-oriented individuals who can manage a variety of front office duties with confidence and grace. This role requires extensive experience in insurance verification, multi-line phone systems, and electronic medical records (EMR/EHR). You will greet and check-in patients, verify insurance and referrals, collect financial responsibilities, and assist with scheduling imaging, procedures, and follow-ups.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, professional welcome to all patients and visitors
• Check-in/check-out patients for appointments, diagnostic imaging, and procedures
• Verify insurance eligibility and coverage using various portals and tools
• Collect copayments, deductibles, and out-of-pocket financial responsibilities
• Assist in verifying referrals and authorizations
• Assist in multi-line phone system efficiently and courteously
• Schedule and reschedule appointments across multiple locations
• Input and update patient records in the EMR/EHR system with high accuracy
• Communicate clearly with clinical and administrative staff regarding patient flow and needs
• Serve as an information hub for patients regarding appointments, services, and expectations

Required Qualifications

• BILINGUAL ONLY APPLY
• High-volume medical receptionist experience (minimum 2 years preferred)
• Proficiency in insurance verification, authorization, and referral management
• Prior experience with EMR/EHR systems (ALLSCRIPTS/VERADIGM) and insurance portals (Athena, Availity, or similar)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Confident handling of multi-line phones in a busy office setting
• Friendly and professional demeanor—a beacon of hospitality and care
• Ability to collect, record, and reconcile patient financials accurately
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-provider medical practice
• High school diploma or equivalent (additional training/certifications are a plus)

• Full-time: 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday)
