Medical Receptionist/Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist/Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate will be proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems, medical billing, and coding procedures, all while maintaining a warm and professional demeanor.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out processes using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
  • Schedule appointments accurately using medical scheduling software and coordinate patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.
  • Collect and review patient information, update medical records, and ensure proper documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, answer inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Assist with medical billing and collection efforts
  • Maintain organized medical records, file documents securely, and manage office supplies to support smooth clinic operations.
  • Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, typing reports, and utilizing Microsoft Office tools for documentation purposes
  • Handle intake procedures for new patients, process forms efficiently, and support front desk activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards by adhering to HIPAA guidelines during all patient interactions and documentation processes.
  • Medical Assisting as needed

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office support role within a clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems. We currently use eclincal works .
  • Understanding of medical terminology and medications.
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person while demonstrating professionalism at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing procedures.
  • Prior clinic experience is advantageous; familiarity with hospital or healthcare environments is beneficial.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy setting while maintaining accuracy and composure.
  • Medical assisting experiance is adavantgeous

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
