The Medical Research Technician works with the PI to perform and to develop experimentation related to non-canonical virus-host genomic and transcriptome interactions in viral disease and cancer. The Medical Research Technician may also prepare other laboratory tasks under the direction of the PI and other designated senior research personnel in the laboratory.
- Bachelor’s Degree and one year of directly related experience
- Experience in laboratory techniques.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate proficient problem-solving skills
- Design and perform molecular biology and genomics and transcriptomics experiments (cell transfection, RNA preparations, qPCR, ChIP-seq, HiSeq, Western blot analysis, etc).
- Ability to work with rodents in research is a plus.
- Ability to search literature and genomics databases.
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills.
