Medical Scheduler

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Scheduler to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties

• Schedule patient appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems (Practice Fusion).
• Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes
• Manage appointment changes, cancellations, and rescheduling requests promptly and professionally
• Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy, including care plans and clinical notes
• Coordinate with medical staff to ensure availability of providers and resources for scheduled procedures or consultations
• Maintain detailed records of scheduling activities, patient interactions, and documentation review processes
• Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, providing courteous service to patients and providers

Experience

• Prior experience in medical scheduling within a clinical or hospital environment preferred
• Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software.
• Experience with insurance verification processes for Medicare and other insurance providers
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
• Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume scheduling while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
