Job Description

This role will provide scientific support to the MENAT field team, regional head office Medical Affairs team and external Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and be instrumental in establishing and enhancing the company’s reputation with HCPs delivering the required medical information in the interest of benefits of patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with KOLs, scientific experts and other medical scientific stakeholders.
  • Share information with field and head-office teams regarding communications with KOLs
  • Deliver high quality medical and scientific communications in line with defined corporate level and Business Unit communication plans.
  • Create and execute center of excellence engagement plan.
  • Support affiliate’s Medical and Commercial team in developing local medical tactics and provide input to regional plans if relevant.
  • Organize and set up scientific advisory boards with the appropriate key stakeholders.
  • Work with local patient access team and in co-ordination with the HQ patient access function to support local market access, pricing and reimbursement.
  • Contribute and support medical scientific aspects in various activities locally and regionally.
  • Provide local and regional feedback to regional office when performing Business Development Due Diligence and competitor analysis.
  • Delivery input to regional office led medical programs ahead of launch.
  • Attend relevant local, regional and global congresses and symposiums to represent Sobi and interact with appropriate stakeholders and customers.
  • Facilitate and manage named-patient use (NPU), in collaboration with Sobi’s overall activities in this field
  • Ensure ongoing completion of all required initial and ongoing training in local regulations and policies, and adherence to those regulations and policies.
  • In coordination with the Medical Director and MSM : Propose, implement and monitor the regional medical action plan (Strategic & Operational) which includes Phase 3 or 4 studies, investigator studies, post-authorization studies, promotional and educational medical projects.
  • Proactive and timely input into Brand Strategy, plan and budget
  • To respond to medical questions from customers and company colleagues
  • To ensure initial and continued medical training of field teams
  • To validate team’s medical information
  • To work with field teams on public relations or symposia with healthcare professionals.
  • Liaison with patient advocacy groups

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a medical field (Pharmacy, Medicine); postgraduate degree in a medical field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL)
  • Experience within GCC markets, including Saudi Arabia, is advantageous
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse portfolios and meet medical KPIs
  • Strong operational discipline and execution skills

  • Experience in haematology and rare diseases field is desirable
