I'm currently supporting a pharmaceutical client with the search for several Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - Oncology hires in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This is a field-based opportunity for scientifically strong medical professionals who enjoy building credible relationships with external experts and supporting high-quality scientific exchange across oncology products spanning both marketed and pipeline assets.
Working closely with global and local cross-functional teams, these individuals will act as trusted scientific partners to oncologists, haematologists, investigators, and other key stakeholders across their assigned regions. The roles will focus on non-promotional scientific engagement, insight gathering, and support for evidence-generation activities, while ensuring all work is delivered compliantly and in line with local regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, map, and develop scientific relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, and cancer centres across the assigned territory
- Deliver high-quality, balanced, non-promotional scientific exchange with healthcare professionals across the oncology landscape
- Gather and share field medical insights to help inform local and global medical strategy
- Support the planning and execution of advisory boards, medical education programmes, and scientific discussions
- Contribute to evidence-generation initiatives, including investigator-initiated studies, real-world evidence activities, and company-sponsored research
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of disease areas, treatment pathways, clinical data, competitive activity, and local treatment guidelines
- Provide scientific input and training to relevant internal cross-functional stakeholders
- Attend regional and local congresses / scientific meetings to stay current on emerging data and evolving standards of care
- Respond to unsolicited medical information requests in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner
- Ensure all activities are carried out in line with internal procedures, local regulations, and applicable codes of conduct

Ideal background
I'd be keen to speak with candidates who bring:
- Previous experience in an MSL or field medical role
- Strong scientific understanding of oncology, with haematology exposure also of interest
- Experience engaging with KOLs, investigators, and specialist healthcare professionals
- A strong grounding in medical affairs and compliant scientific communication
- The ability to interpret and communicate clinical data clearly and credibly
- Strong relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration skills
- A proactive approach and willingness to travel across the assigned region
