Medical Scribe

Leon Medical Centers is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our team!

As a Medical Scribe at Leon Medical Centers, you will be a key player in our healthcare team. Under the direct supervision of an attending physician, your role will be to create and maintain the patient's Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and document the patient's history as relayed by the physician. This role is vital in enhancing the efficiency of the healthcare team and ensuring accurate and thorough medical records.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately documents patients' history, physical examination findings, and treatment plans as dictated by physicians into the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Captures the patient care encounter while coordinating the presentation of diagnostic data.
• May accompany the physician during medical history-taking and exam, recording details of both into the EMR
• Updates patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient's EMR
• Performs other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned

Requirements

• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic medical terminology
• Computer proficiency, accuracy, and ability to quickly learn new applications.
• Must be flexible and willing to commute to various LMC centers across Miami-Dade County as needed
