Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Scribe and Assistant to support our healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters and assisting with clinical and administrative tasks. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in a busy medical practice specializing in otolaryngology.
Duties
- Transcribe detailed clinical notes during patient examinations using electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist physicians with medical documentation, including recording patient histories, physical exam findings, and treatment plans.
- Manage and organize medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Support the clinical team by preparing examination rooms, sterilizing equipment, and handling basic administrative duties.
- Utilize physiology and anatomy knowledge to accurately document complex medical information related to ear, nose, and throat conditions.
- Demonstrate proficiency in typing speed and transcription skills to facilitate efficient documentation workflows.
- Provide emergency room experience support when needed, assisting with urgent patient care activities.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or as a medical scribe is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to ENT conditions.
- Experience working with EMR or EHR systems for documentation purposes.
- Excellent transcription skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with medical records management and confidentiality protocols.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
